Brainchild
of the Queen of Thailand, Bang Sai Royal Folk Arts and Crafts Centre is
developed with an objective of promoting and protecting traditional Thai
crafts. Situated on the banks of the Chao Phraya river, it provides
demonstration of Thai crafts and arts amidst picturesque surroundings.The Centre
Bang Sai Crafts Center can be segregated in several sections, which are as follows:
The Museum Shop
Visitors can watch exquisite handicrafts manufactured by common Thais like weaving basketry, fern vien basketry, hand-woven silk and cotton, silk dyeing, hand-modeled dolls, artificial flowers, wood-carving etc.
The Workshops
The Center has several workshops where the farmers from rural areas are provided training in folk arts and crafts. Tourists can amble through the workshops, located in central part, and watch the impressive products, which have taken shape thanks to the expertise of their makers. They have been able to produce the articles of such standards only after intensive training and hard work.
The Arts and Crafts Village
It
is a group of wooden houses, which incorporate various styles of Thai
architecture. The houses display the products on region their architectural
style is based on. Folk shows and plays are also demonstrated in the

How To Reach
The center is 30 km from Bangkok on the highway. It is better to hire a car to reach the center. The center can also be reached through a river cruise.
