Erawan
National Park is one of the highlights of Kanchanaburi province. Popular
since it's inception in wildlife lovers' fraternity, it is also known for
famous Erawan Waterfalls, counted among the most charming falls in Asia, let
alone Thailand. The Park is also the home of several mysterious caves,

Erawan Waterfalls
Considered to be one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Asia, Erawan Waterfalls are located right in middle of the forest. The 7-tier waterfall amidst picturesque greenery is a nice spot for picnicking and camping.
Pra That Cave
Located
at a distance of 10 km from the Erawan falls, the cave is known for it's
impressive stalactites and stalagmites, present in four huge rooms. One can
watch bats hanging from the roof of the cave. Wang Bahadan Cave
The cave is known for a large hall decorated with strange limestone formations. It is located around 50 km from the headquarters.
Activities-Adventures
Hilly picturesque landscape of the National Park is very good for trekking and mountaineering. Walking amidst the verdant surrounding over the undulating and sometimes, almost vertical landscape is definitely an exhilarating experience.
Topography & Vegetation
The National Park is an hilly area with number of valleys. The eastern hills with their limestone cliffs act as a deterrent to the eastern monsoon. The result is a low average rainfall. Deciduous forests cover around 80% of the Park. Dry evergreen and bamboo forests also cover some part of the Park.

» The Park was designated the status of a National Park in 1975. It is Thailand's 12th national park.
Climate
Climate is very hot in the summers (February to April), but the weather gets pleasant in the winter season (November to February). This season is the ideal one to visit the Park. Rainy season lasts from May to October. Tourists are advised to avoid the rainy season for the weather might become stormy.
How To Reach
To reach the Park, visitors can take bus from Kanchanaburi town. They can move on their own vehicle too.

Some bungalows and dormitories are available in the Park. Facilities like a visitor center, restaurant, public telephones, and a shop of necessary items are within the Park premises.
