Phimai
Historical Park, which is the largest sandstone sanctuary in Thailand, is

The Site
Phimai also hosts one of the most spectacular Khmer temples in Thailand. The grand temple in the historical complex is compared by the archaeologists to Angkor Wat. Most buildings within the historical park are from the 11th to the 12th century, built in the Bayon, Baphuon and Angkor Wat style.

Air, train and bus services operate daily for Nakhon Ratchasima from Capital Bangkok. From Nakhon Ratchasima, one can board another bus for the historic site or rent a car.
